The 2nd Round of funding from the Tarrant County Small Business Assistance Program opens today, Monday, October 26th. The application is online only and can be accessed here: http://smallbusiness.tarrantcounty.com. Applications close on November 10th at 6:00 P.M. and funds will be distributed by December 30, 2020.
What is different from the first round?
This round maintains the same basic eligibility as the first round, with the addition of independently owned and operated Franchise Businesses. If you received a grant award in Round 1, you will not be eligible for another grant award in Round 2. This 2nd round is available for business that may have missed the application period in the first round, started an application but did not complete it, or did not provide the correct information for their first round application that deemed them to be ineligible and not receive an award. For those that may have had difficulty applying before, we have been told that the application has been streamlined for easier input of financial information and a quicker review of the application.
Who is eligible?
A small business with 25 or less employees
Located within Tarrant County, outside the City of Fort Worth
A for-profit business in operation in Tarrant County as of January 1, 2020
Business was closed or partially closed due to COVID-19
Business shows a reduction in Net Profit or an increased Loss from COVID-10
Applications limited to one (1) business per Owner(s)
Businesses/Owner(s) receiving grant award in first round not eligible for award in second round
We have learned of another grant opportunity for which you may be eligible. The Rural Relief Small Business Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000 are available to small businesses facing immediate financial pressure due to COVID-19. Although we may not think of Keller as being rural, we qualify under their definition of a community with a population of 50,000 or less, as the City of Keller population is 45,400.
The application period is now open and you can apply here: https://lisc.tfaforms.net/234 Applications must be submitted by Monday, November 2nd at 11:59PM ET.
Only small businesses located in rural communities are eligible at this time. Rural communities are defined as having a population of 50,000 or less (Keller’s population is 45,400).
A community is defined as the city/town/village where your business address is located. If the business is mobile (a food truck, fishing boat, ride share driver, etc) please use the address where your vehicle is stored during non-business hours.
Non-profit organizations are ineligible for the relief funding program at this time, but may be eligible for later rounds of funding.
If you have received funding in an earlier LISC COVID Relief Grant you are ineligible and should not reapply, even if you own multiple businesses.
The grant is being offered by LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation). LISC is a national non-profit corporation that has been around since 1979. They receive funding from banks, corporations, foundations and government agencies, and use the funding to provide financing (loans, grants and equity) and technical and management assistance to local partners and developers.
